An Introduction to Blogging- *Successful completion of this course is required for teachers who wish to use blogging with students.
A blog is a powerful Web 2.0 learning tool that allows students to contribute to their own learning. Teachers can use it to stimulate thinking/problem-solving and promote rich discussions. During this 3 week online courselette, teachers will discuss online safety and pedagogy related to developing a class blog. Teachers will explore educational applications of blogs and develop their own class blog using edublogs.org. Participants will be able to: • identify tools and strategies for keeping students safe • create their own class password protected site • leave with an understanding of the guidelines required for using these resources with students
